This cache is located along highway 20 between Cusick and Ione. There is ample parking close to the cache site.
The ferry service across the Pend Oreille River was discontinued in 1964. Look carefully and you can see the remains of the old ferry pilings where it docked. Bring your fishing pole, binoculars and a picnic lunch. There is abundant wildlife to see: bald eagles, blue herons, osprey, beavers, wild turkeys, deer, elk, moose, and bears. Enjoy exploring North Pend Oreille county. In the late '50's we rode this ferry to cross to the east side of the river to go to Yocum Lake on a fishing trip. The cache container is a regular sized one large enough for items including: geocoins and travel bugs.
