There is this wonderful story of a young woman who introduced a young man to geocaching. Not only did this young man fall in love with geocaching but he fell in love with this young woman.
As the years passed, everyone knew that these two would eventually be married. The question became when and where he might propose to her.
Wanting to make it personal and a surprise, he decided to hide the engagement ring in a geocache. With the help of his friend and pastor, the ruse was on. After numerous hints to the young lady that a ring would not be forthcoming for months when he could save enough money, she was in an unexpected state. Then one Sunday afternoon, she received a text message saying that said pastor had hid his first cache and that if she and her honey wished to be the FTF, they had better go immediately. It worked like a charm! Within an hour they were on the trail. The cache was found, a knee was taken, a speech was given, an affirmative response ensued, and kisses closed the deal. All of this recorded on camera by the pastor who was hidden deep in the woods.
If you successuflly locate this cache, you will have found the very ammo can that contained the ring and be at the very spot where the proposal occurred. When you open the cache, you will find pictures of the event, a log in which you may leave a message for this geocouple on their upcoming geomarriage, and of course, a whole bunch of rings. These rings aren't any where near the value of the original contents of this cache, but you are free to take one as long as you leave a message for the happy couple.
