It's the 6th bi-annual World Wide Flash Mob event!
When: Saturday, November 14th, 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM.
Where: Howard Amon Park, near the Sturgeon Cove Playground.
What is a "Flash Mob" event?
A "Flash Mob" is a get-together of geocachers lasting only and exactly 15 minutes, no more and no less. Cachers arrive at the predetermined location and time. Events similar to this are being held all around the world at the same time. For example, an event will be happening in London, England at 6:00 PM (London time) and in the Tri-Cities, WA at 10:00 PST.
Schedule:
Shortly before 10:00 AM the event log and and travel bug trading container will arrive at ground zero. At this time it is ok to begin gathering at ground zero. Previous to this time please stay a fair distance around from ground zero. Choose any activity to keep you busy. Act like you are just at the park to have fun!
10:00 AM: Sign the event log and drop it in the designated cache container. Trade any items, mingle and swap caching tales!
10:05 AM: A light snack (Hershey kisses) will be provided.
10:10 AM: Prize drawing for FTF prize.
10:12 AM: Assemble quickly for a group photo which will be posted on the cache page afterwards.
10:14 AM: Prepare to leave when the "1 minute warning" is called.
Exactly 10:15 AM: LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY!!!! Meet elsewhere if desired for some caching. The event area will be left without a trace. All trade items and the logbook will be packed up. The only chance you have to log the event and trade items is between 10:00 AM and 10:15 AM.
We will supply fliers to any muggles who wander by and wonder what is going on. That's part of the fun!
Please post a "Will Attend" log so I know how many people to expect. Hopefully we will have a decent sized crowd. See you there!!!
