Al Shamal Fort Stadium Cache
This cache
is located in the northern area of Qatar near the town of Al
Shamal. This is an interesting sports stadium that has been built
here. The 4 corners house the floodlights. They cannot be seen
during the day as they are retracted into the turrets. When they
are required they are extended for use. It is quite a unique
operation and
I would certainly like to see the lights working one
day.
Currently
[November 2009] the stadium is still under construction so it is
not possible to see inside. The pitch however is visible from the
outside at the moment. I am sure that once it has been completed
one will be able to explore the area in more detail.
The cache
itself has been placed a distance away from the stadium itself as I
don't want it removed by the construction workers or destroyed by
the construction activities. The cache location has its own
fascination and interest as well. Visit the site and you will
see why I say so.
