Saijozan : "Dragon saw through the strategy."
Saijozan mountain is a slightly elevated mountain where Kenshin Uesugi leads the army of 13,000 people from Echigo(Niigata) and the camp was set up.
It is in the southern part of Nagano City.
It was possible to take a survey of the whole in Chikuma River and Kawanakajima.
Moreover, it was a place splendid to look for movements of Kaizu castle of the Takeda army.
Kansuke Yamamoto that serves as strategist of the Takeda army started dividing the army into two, attacking Saijozan mountain in the detached corps of 12,000 people, moving the main unit of 8,000 people to Hachimanpara, and attacking the Uesugi army from both sides there.
Kenshin Uesugi who had seen through this "Woodpecker strategy" with the smoke of a lot of cooking rice that went up from Kaizu castle descended Saijozan mountain without making noise in the middle of the night, and charged at the Takeda main unit that waited in Kawanakajima.
Because the large army of Uesugi that not was there would be had appeared, the Takeda main unit kept aghast. The Takeda army completely failed in the strategy.
Kansuke Yamamoto that felt responsibility in the failure of the strategy died in battle charging at the enemy.
There is a place said that it died in battle in present Minami Nagano Sports Park.
The Takeda detached corps that went to Saijo mountain arrived at Hachimanpara afterwards, and the situation was reversed.
Then, the Uesugi army improved the soldier and the fight ended.
Cache was set up in surrounding of top of a mountain.
It is a plastic case with about 200ml.

妻女山は、上杉謙信が越後から1万3,000人の軍を率いて陣営を設けた小高い山です。
長野市の南部にあります。
千曲川と川中島一帯を見渡せ、武田方の海津城の動静をうかがうには絶好の場所でした。
武田軍の軍師山本勘助は、軍を2つに分け、12,000人の別働隊で妻女山を攻撃し、8,000人の本隊を八幡原に移動させてそこで上杉軍を挟み撃ちにしようとしました。
海津城から上がる沢山の炊飯の煙でこの「啄木鳥戦法」を見抜いた上杉謙信は、夜中に音を立てずに妻女山を下り、川中島で待ち構えていた武田本隊に突撃していきました。
いるはずのない上杉の大軍が現れたので武田本隊は愕然としました。武田軍は完全に作戦を失敗しました。
作戦の失敗に責任を感じた山本勘助は、敵に突撃して討ち死にしました。
現在の南長野運動公園に討ち死にしたという場所があります。
その後 妻女山に行っていた武田別働隊が八幡原に到着して、形勢は逆転しました。
そこで上杉軍は兵を引き上げて戦いは終了しました。
キャッシュは山頂周辺に設置しました。
