Geocache Description:

Sly2’s fourth On Your Bike cache is just off the road on David’s Lane, which links Nympsfield and the busy Horsley to Dursley road. For years I've puzzled as to who David was . . . and I found out via the Nailsworth Chat & Info page on Facebook today (19 Feb 2018). See below . . .

Cyclists and walkers should have no problem, but vehicle drivers will have to be careful where they stop before attempting the cache.

The cache is in a small plastic box, replaced on 24 September 2016 as the original was getting a bit battered. Hopefully this one will last as long.

Enjoy the walk and the views which are spectacular. Bring a map and enjoy choosing a route to the other three caches in the On Your Bike series.

Congrats to Landy Steve, FTF on November 1 :) Apparently the lane is named after a young lad, David Heaney, who many years ago was sledging in Nympsfield, wearing a handkerchief tied at each corner on his head: somebody out shooting saw movement, fired, and David was fatally injured.
