Geocache Description:

This cache is in Redmond Watershed Preserve. Park closes at sunset.

A great park that gets little attention. The Redmond Watershed Preserve is a great place for a nice day hike. Close enough to the city when you haven't got time to drive far out, it has a nice feeling of being way out in nature. This cache is placed for the anniversary of my 500th find. I wanted something special. Don't give away the container in the logs. It's more fun to not know when you find it. The container is a special one that has a waterproof matchstick container in it for the log. Please bring your own pen. This area has been heaven for me at many times in my life. A nice space to escape to when I needed to get out of the city and didn't have much time to do it. Many animals live here too, although you won't see many of them besides the squirrels. A nice space for squirrels and other animals to have their own space out of the city. Park at the main parking area for the preserve. N47 41.811 W 122 03.088. The cache is a little over a half mile from the trailhead. It is a nicely kept trail but is not suitable for wheelchairs. The last 60-70 feet or so is a bushwack to keep the cache from being muggled. Start out on the trillium trail and cross the Powerline Regional Trail. When you get to the trail at N47 42.337 W 122 03.142 turn south (right) on the well developed trail. Follow this trail until you get to N47 42.292 W 122 02.951. You'll want to enter the woods on the NORTHEAST (left) side of the trail. Enter the woods, near the gray rock about 2 feet high. You'll want to pass to the left side of the rock (the rock will be on your right as you head into the woods). You are looking for a stump about 4 1/2 feet high, and about as big around as a basketball (or a little bigger). Good luck. Have fun. Let me know what you think of the container. Congratulations DrTusk for FTF AND got it even following park rules and waiting until morning!! Way to go!!! 12/25/09 added extra hints. People were saying it took a while to find, and I don't want the woods trashed. however, everyone was finding it, so you can decrypt them in the order given as needed, if needed. See pictures to where to enter woods to the EAST (or N/E) of trail. 3/14/21 The woods has changed a lot over the years. Adjusted instructions to match, changed the log holder to a waterproof match container.
