Geocache Description:

PLEASE make sure the container has 'gripped' with it's magnet when you replace it. Thanks!
This cache only contains the log. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PENCIL OR PEN !!! It is the easiest of terrains but you need your thinking caps on for location. Muggle central, so be discreet when retrieving and replacing the cache!! Don't forget muggles are back and front, side to side, and even above. But you can get this cache discreetly!

We are really blessed here on the Gold Coast to have such beautiful beaches, golden sand, wonderful waves, and places where we can get some oft needed exercise.

This cache is located in such a place!!

Look around you and you will see a commemorative plaque naming this park:

NEILSEN FAMILY PARK

This park is named in honour of the Neilsen family for their contribution to the Surf Life Saving movement and the surfing industry.

In 1938 Bill (Ganger) Neilsen was appointed by the Southport Town Council to become the first professional lifesaver for the Gold Coast and for Queensland.

Later in 1951 he was made a life member of the Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club.

Bill's sons also became well established in the surfing industry. In the 1970's Rick and Paul became world class surfboard riding champions and collectively (with their brother Len) became known as the Brothers Neilsen. The sons established a successful retail outlet.

Take this opportunity to walk the paths, the beach, have a swim - there is a patrolled area close by, and grab a cache. Sign the log and replace carefully,

KIPOC took FTF honours for this cache! Congratulations!
