Geocache Description:

A little multi-stop in central Sherman County.

Stretch your legs and enjoy a bit of history at our picturesque little town.

Every spring, back in the days, salesmen rode the trains into these farmlands, carrying models of their goods in their heavy carpetbags. Whether they sold anvils or sheep clippers, hay mowers, steam canners or pie tins, what they sold was always the cutting edge, the "new ideal."

In August the farm families would meet east of town, bringing their "ideals" with them -- muscled cattle, golden sheaves of grain, flake-crusted pies. Kids would race, cowboys would whoop, princesses would parade at this "ideal" weekend. And, always, folks would go home cheered, tired and filled with "ideals" for next year's entries.

In Sherman County we are quite fond of our history. Sometimes it's hard for us to leave the older ways behind and step forward. But there is always a cutting edge, a new "ideal" to challenge us.

Cache is an altoids box; orginal contents beads, buttons, small toys, tinman geocoin. Original coordinates take you to a piece of vintage farm equipment. You need the words from the tool box to solve the puzzle and take you to the final stage.

How many words are on the tool box? (X)
How many letters do those words have all together? (Y)

45 X Y.(Y-1) 11
120 43. 10 (X+3)
