Geocache Description:

Elevation: 262 m (according to the GPS)

This Cache is located on the grounds of Northern Illinois University. It is not a quick park and grab as it will require a little walking into a wooded area near a pond. There are trails all through the wooded area, but they tend to get a little squishy if it has been raining.

You can park very close, in the 15 minute parking spots near the dorms. 15 minutes should be enough to do this cache. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AS CAMPUS POLICE WILL TICKET YOUR CAR IF YOU PARK IN THE STUDENT PARKING WITHOUT A PERMIT. The 15 minute parking spots will not be ticketed if you keep to the 15 minutes!!

The cache has room for small trading items (we left it stocked with a few), small travel bugs and small geocoins. We left our first travel bug in this cache (our first hide) – happy travels!

In the right season you can enjoy the large tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipfera) near the cache, but not near enough to give anything away!
