Route 27 N, turn on Carriage Road, park at Huts & Trails main parking lot.
About a .2 mile walk each way. Go past the cache "Maine Huts & Trails #1", take the Cut Off trail to your left. Fairly easy walking, a few small stumps to stub your toe on.
I saw a bear on the Carriage Road this summer, not here, maybe a couple of miles in. And I had previously decided that if I saw a bear, I would put a cache out in its "honor". So here it is. A nice place for bear, running water, beech ridge, some cozy looking caves up the trail a bit. But you're not likely to see one.
This cache is an ammo can with the usual swag, some things for kids, and a few bear items. It is winter friendly, although this particular trail isn't groomed for skiing.
