Geocache Description:

Update 04-01-23 – Road to cache has been reported to be in good condition. It seems the the road has actually been extended out to the pond, so it is even easier to get to than ever before! Still a walk in the woods, but a little easier than ever before! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This cache is located at the end of an old horse trail in the Tosohatchee WMA. You must enter the Tosohatchee WMA from Taylor Creek Road to get to the parking area - use Parking Area #24. Do not try to get to it from RT528, that is illegal! You must cross over Mud Lake Canal; the bridge is pretty old, so be careful. Find the trailhead at the far end of the pond, there are old roads and trails leading to the trailhead, follow those it is easier. Once at the trailhead, start working your way to the cache (actual trail is hard to follow, so just follow your GPS - no real bushwhacking is necessary, just look for open areas or trails). The trailhead is at N28 26.906 W80 54.811
I have a trail map on Wikiloc - click here to see it and download it.

You are looking for an interesting container which just contains a log (BYOP - any swag will just rot out there). Like all of Tosohatchee, it can be a little damp at times. I have found it mostly dry the many times I have visited this area. You can venture from the cache area out to the St Johns River delta for more spectacular views.

You could get to it from the St Johns River Area, but the most popular way is through the main gate off Taylor Creek Road - there is a $3 charge per car if you are not 65 or older.

You can check my hunting calendar at “www.tinyurl.com/techunts” or click here to see it now. If in the area during hunting season, wear your orange or bright colors.

I have also come across some hunter/hiker trash while exploring the area, so show them by being a CITO cacher.

You can read more about Tosohatchee at my blog - click here.

Also, take time to look for the other caches in the area, in 2016 there was one at the parking area and another off the trail which leads to this one.
