The Gateway to Elsewhere Traditional Cache
Alpinebobl: It's finally truly missing after all these years. It's a good spot to place a new one if anyone is interested.

It's enlightening when a town or city has the motto, "The Gateway to -----------". Why don't they just say, "We have diddly squat to offer, but we're sort of near this cool place, so please come through and buy something, on your way to Elsewhere". ......"Pretty Please".
This Gateway to Elsewhere is the start of the Forest Service Road 01, and it does lead to plenty of Elsewhere's. With the right type of transportation in the right season, you can get to Coldstream Canyon, and the Emigrant Trail over to Sugar Bowl, or to the abandoned railroad sheds and tunnels or to Donner Lake. Another direction can lead you to the old log cabin at Stanford Wood Camp, and then almost to Tinker's Knob and the through the upper reaches of Deep Creek, over to Pole Creek and back down to Hwy 89.
Zoom in on the map, read the hint or re-read the title, and you won't even have to turn on your electronic locator device...trust me. If this is too easy for you, try Camouflageus Cacheia (GC20E02), for a just a wee bit more challenge.
