Geocache Description:

Our first cache placement, in honor of “Muddy”, the new town mascot.

This cache brings you to Thompson Creek Park, home of “Muddy” the giant mudcat, a nice creek and some mown trails leading onto wetlands. This is a quick, easy, kid friendly hike. Muddy’s grand unveiling will be Saturday, November 14th. We are hoping to have the cache active by then but I would not suggest trying to find it on that day due to likely heavy muggle presence in the area. Muggles often walk the area, occasionally accompanied by four-legged friends, but it is generally a very quiet park. No cars in the parking lot usually means no people. The official description of the park: “Thompson Creek Restoration, Dunnville: Natural regenerated area reforested with Carolinian trees and frequented by various wildlife.” OLD DESCRIPTION: The cache is a camoed peanut butter jar. It contains a log and mostly kidstuff contributed by my children. Parking at: N 42.54.611 W079.38.198

UPDATE 2023: The area has undergone a lot of changes in recent years. There is no longer room for a cache of that size in the area. It is now a bison tube.
