World Wide Flash Mob Event 6 (WWFM): This is where dozens of themed events all around the world are coordinated to happen at the same time! These are great events for newbies and seasoned geocachers alike!
“It’s my party and I’ll cache if I want to!”

WWFM Whaaat?
A world wide flash mob (WWFM) is an event of a different sort. It is a large group of people who assemble (seemingly) out of nowhere in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time and then quickly disperse. Come join in and be a part of this historic event!
There are 147 events happening in 20 countries around the world.
The Theme:
Birthday Party! It just so happens to be my birthday and what a better way to celebrate than with the world wide birthday party! Bring a balloon, or your finest sparkly party hat, noise makers and any other birthday party item. Just consider CITO, before you pop that party popper!
WFM VI Birthday Party at Golden Gate Park! – The Plan:
Before 10:00 – find a place to park, find the location of the event (but don’t go there) loiter around without talking to any other suspecting geocachers. There are a lot of caches in the park if you need to kill time.
At exactly 10:00am (as determined by the GPS clock) Balloons will appear at the co-ordinates, the party music will start and the fun will begin!
10:00 – Gather, seemingly out of nowhere, at the co-ordinates, collect your “Party Bag”. Complete the log sheets (inside the party bag) to qualify for attendance and put in the designated collection box.
10:03 – Quickly have some yummy birthday cake. And it isn’t a birthday party unless you sing happy birthday (Quickly!)
10:06 - A rapid fire game of “Pass the parcel” will begin.
10:12 – Gather for a group photo, move quickly and listen to the ‘official’ photographer
10:14 - One minute warning will be given. Prepare to vacate the premises.
10:15 – Poof! Now disappear, leaving any muggles thinking that they had just witness the fastest ever birthday party! Remember leave no trace.
I will have a swag bucket for anyone to trade items at any time. Bring along something to trade!
Included in the party bag will be the location of a nearby place to meet after the event, I will also have a list of the nearby caches. I am sure that many of you will want to get some good finds in!
To bring:
Swag to trade.
BYOP – Bring your own pen.
A silly party item. – Hat, balloon, glow stick (?)
Any coins you want to trade (just remember who you gave it to for tracking)
Suggestions:
Get there with plenty of time to spare, the event is only 15 minutes, so running late is pointless.
Seek out the meeting spot before hand. Just so you don’t miss any of the fun!
Please be conscious of taking any trash away with you.
