Beautiful area of exposed rock outcropping. Awesome place to camp under the stars.
Cache is a small (5x7x2") rubbermaid with fun items inside. Notepad, 2 bouncy balls, potato chip bag clip, yo-yo, crazy hair ties and headband.
FTF gets a 0.50$ piece.
To get here, take Exit 81 on I-40 in Grants NM. Drive south on Rt 53, 100 feet, turn Right onto Zuni Canyon Road by the RV park. Follow this 8.4 miles (it becomes dirt at mile 3.7) to the junction of Road 447 on Left.
Road 447 is a true dirt road and during muddy weather, 4x4 would be advisable.
Drive on Rd 447 a little over 1/2 mile. Park where a dirt track turns off to the right at N 35* 05.580', W 108* 00.874' and walk up the trail to rock outcropping. Nice short hike of 1/6 mile...ish.
This is NM woods so during summer months watch for creepy crawlies and always be on the lookout for the very dangerous 4-legged walking t-bone steak.
