on the tumut river were once there was a bridge
cache is close to the river were the old snowy mtns highway crossed the river per Jone's or bluey's bridge. The old hwy is the road that goes straight ahead although for a short time during the building of the dam the hwy turned to the left after crossing the bridge and joined the new road down at Shelleys creek,until the road over the flat was opened.Bluey was an old character who lived a little hut just to the left of the road as you approach the river from the south.access not from the road to the dam but by crossing river at hwy first.BYO Pencil.
