Geocache Description:

A small cache placed near an old cemetery. Some grave stones here date back to the early 1800s; some are probably older but they are hard to read. DAWN TO DUSK ONLY!!!

UPDATE: AUGUST 2015 - due to a car accident earlier this year, the rock with the date has been removed. See the hint. The cache is located approximately 200-300 feet from the starting point as the crow flies. If you have any trouble locating the cache, please contact me as it should be a fairly easy cache to find.

ORIGINAL POSTING: I found this location while responding to a fire call in the area. It seems that you can find a cemetery almost anywhere in this area. This is another family cemetery high on the hill. Like most of these cemeteries it is hard to find permission for placing a cache, so let me make this clear. THERE IS NO PHYSICAL CACHE CONTAINER OR CLUES PLACED IN THE CEMETERY! You will need to look for a date near the cemetery for the information to the final. You will not be required to enter the cemetery, but the public is allowed to enter from DAWN TO DUSK ONLY. If you do choose to enter this cemetery, take the time to look at the graves, most are old and date back to the early 1900s and even the 1800s. There are a few newer ones that go back to the 1990's.

Take some time to look around this area and view the near by valleys. You can get to this cache by following 2 main roads, Sunnyside Hollow or Ardery Hollow, both will give you a wonderful view as you return to Old 220 leaving the cache. Parking near the cache site it limited, best place is just to pull as far off the road as possible. There is very little traffic so pulling to the side should not be an issue here (There was not a single car driving by in the 45 minutes I was in the area).

From Stage 1 you will need to find the date. It is a white stone in the wall. The stone reads the Month and Year the wall was constructed. To find the cache you must use the following formula:

N 40*50.807 + Month (Example -Jan=.001 to Dec=.012)
W 78*00.618 + Year (Example - 2009=2.009)

Once you have found the coordinates for the final, take the short walk and retrieve the cache. It should not take you out of sight of the cemetery. You should not need to do anything extreme to reach the container.

This goes without saying, but Please remember to be respectful of the cemetery. This is a resting place for someone's family members. Respect them as if they were your own. In my trips up here I have taken the time to clean up the area, please CITO as needed and do not disturb those who rest here. Although the cache does not require you to enter and thus can be accessed 24/7, I strongly urge you to remain as Dawn to Dusk only!

As a closing note, Please use caution on the roads to the cache especially under winter conditions. This area has signs requiring the use of Snow Tires or Chains in the winter. The roads are steep at times and have narrow and sharp curves. Please use caution driving in and out of this area.
