Geocache Description:

The south coast of Wellington is a popular location for recreational divers as the cool, food rich currents of Cook Strait make shellfish plentiful. Unfortunately it also attracts poachers. Some evidence of this can be seen at the GZ as divers avoid detection by shucking and eating undersized shell fish at the picnic spot. Whilst this is a reprehensible act the reason for the cache is to bring cachers to this lovely coast line.

The cache can be reached by foot but is best enjoyed by bike so dust off the sweat wheelers, bundle the kids into the car and make an afternoon of it. There are other caches further on around the coast and others planned.

Whilst open to public access, this is a farm so please note due to Lambing, dogs are NOT ALLOWED during August, September and October.

Dogs are allowed at other times but strictly on a lead.

The cache is a round container slightly bigger than a film canister, please ensure it is suitably covered before you leave.
