I noticed that thus far Mt. Daniel has been void of a cache placement. In my opinion, this is a travesty as Mt. Daniel is one of the top 3 places on the Coast. Top 5 ANYWHERE for me. Brief history as follows: Historically Mt. Daniel served as a spot of local aboriginal importance. Pubescent girls were isolated at this spot to assemble rocks in "moon circles" as way of entering puberty. Nowadays, Mt. Daniel serves as one of the best views of the lower Sunshine Coast. Excellent views of Pender Harbour, Texada Island, lasqueti island, Vancouver Island and the Olympic Range of Washington State. The southern viewpoint is located 100 M south of the geocache. Here one can gaze down Coast and north towards Sechelt Inlet. This cache is designed to take adventurous geocachers to new heights. Enjoy!
