One of the 126 waterfalls in Hamilton
Hamilton is home to 126 waterfalls and is known as the Waterfall Capital of the World. Billy Monkley Cascade is located in the Billy Monkley Bird Sanctuary. The grasslands make this a natural area for many birds such as wrens, sparrows and meadowlarks. There is an easy to follow trail leading close to the cache, then a smaller path leading even closer. As you get within about 15 meters of the cache site, you may need boots depending on the water levels. Enjoy the waterfalls. The terrain rating is as per the system here. It is a very easy walk for all but the last 15M of the walk. There is no writing utensil in the cache. Please bring one to log the find. Plenty of parking is available in the lot on the east side of Dartnell Road. The cache is less than 300M from the parking lot. This is now paid parking with a fee of $7.50 for the day.
