This is one of my favorite stumps! It's got so much going for it, that it had to get a little more attention. This trail also needs to get more attention. It, too, is one of my favorites!
This is a 10 foot by 6 foot ancient double (or triple, or?) cedar. It looks almost like a wall from one side. You really can't miss it.
Park at the fish hatchery and enjoy those nearby caches, or in a small pull-out right on the side of the highway. The trail runs from the campground access road (1 mile nw), past several great caches, past this one, across the road, and up 4 more miles. A great windy, not too steep run (or mtn bike ride), or hike.
Cache is a 1-inch by 4-inch tube in appropriate camo, near the left side of the stump, coming from the highway.
DO NOT TOUCH THE STUMP!!.
Congrats to GeoMimi55 and Cascadesclimber on FTF!
