The cache is located in a grassy area after a short walk through a glade of lovely native trees
NOTE: "Susiedog" the founder and owner of this cache passed away in January 2014. To honour her memory and her love of Geocaching we are going to oversee and maintain this cache. We love you Nana xxx
This area is listed in the" Waitakere City Outstanding Vegatation Sites" as a Pohutukawa forest in rugged hill country. . In pioneering days this area was the site of a Kauri timber dam with a trestle traintrack, running from the start of the track along the present road.This track will become part of the coastal Hilary Walk way. On the way along the track you will see fine examples of Karaka Trees, also note the below photos are not actual photos of where the cache is hidden, they are to help you identify trees.

The cache is a well disguised 1 litre plastic container containing a log and pencil, Geocoin, TB, and various tradeable items,and a hand made pottery dolphin by me for F.T.F . The car park at the above coordinates is the waypoint. Here you will need to find the Surf Board map:

Use the surfboard Map with its list of Piha features to solve the final co-ordinates:
S 36 56. A B C / E 174. 28 .X Y Z
-The feature between "you are here" and the track to Whites Beach gives you A.
-Find the largest rock on the beach to obtain B.
-A stream a short distance away minus the "Track to Whites Beach" provides C, and this same stream alone gives you Y.
-Z is the sum of the two building near by.
-To determine X remove Whites Beach from the track at B {Answer is not 9, think carefully}
Now that you have the final co ordinates you need to take a bush walk by the stream.
