Geocache Description:

Every pearl is unique and of extraordinary beauty, just as the beaches along the waterfront of Qualicum are. I have named this series of ten beach caches, "String of Pearls", because every cache site is truly an exceptional pearl and cachers should have the opportunity of visiting and enjoying all of them. Enjoy this "String of Pearls"

In 1958, the Village Council of Qualicum, set up a Recreation Commission to start summer swimming lessons on the Qualicum Beach. To protect the children from passing motorboats, four poles were erected, and then at a later date, four more poles were added. Lessons were stopped in 1975. Even with eight poles standing on the beach, all the locals referred to the beach as Four Pole. Now, four of the eight have disappeared and the beach only has four poles as named. As each of the poles succumb to time and tide, the beach will always be referred to as Four Pole and few will know why.

This beach is an extremely popular tourist spot so great stealth is required. Enjoy this very rare pearl of a beach.

Congratulations to ceebeecee for FTF
