Del Valle Dog Days Traditional Cache

Del Valle Regional Park offers something for everyone - fishermen, hikers, bikers, equestrians, and dog lovers.
This is the first park that I've been in that has a section of trail very near to parking that is specifically marked as a dog run. Dogs are permitted to be off leash (as they are on most of the trails in the park), and the trail is fairly wide, smooth, and level, making it a nice place to take your pet.
However, the cache is NOT right on the edge of the trail. You will need to go off-trail to find it, although not too far. The area around the cache location is not a bad spot to take in the view, or simply watch the people and pups go by.
When placed, the cache contained a log book, pen, and cache note, as well as a selection of trade items and a "Geocaching the Appalachian - Georgia" pin for FTF.
If you haven't been to Del Valle before, I highly recommend making a day of it, and picking up some of the other caches that are here, or maybe renting a boat or taking a swim.
