Preliminary celebration of the millionth active geocache at the No Frills Grill & Sports Bar Arlington location on Little Road 6:00-8:00 p.m. The real celebration will also be on Wed March 17, see GC23BKK.
This is now a preliminary celebration of the 1,000,000 th active geocache!!! Since this is quite a mile stone in the sport of tupperware finding we have to commemorate this event with a SWAG No Frills (well maybe one or two small frills) party. I have had to delay the actual celebration until March 17 GC23BKK because of the slow down in caches being placed.

ChickNStu will present the cacher that guesses the day on which the 1,000,000th actvie geocache is listed with a nice prize. I will try to get a geocoin or another appropriate award. To enter your guess you must write a log in GC23BKK stating when you guess that the millionth geocache will be listed. The winner will be the person who is closest to the actual day or in the event that more than one person correctly guesses the day (or closest day) the person with the 1st log will win. The winning date will be the 1st day that the GC home page lists 1M or more GCs.
I have set the new cut off date to be Sat Feb 6 in order to keep things sporting and prevent a last minute rush for the prize.
I have set the new date of the event as Wed March 17 since I have had to revise my guess of when the 1M cache will be placed. My estimate is still based on a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess) with fudge factors for the small rate of increase during the holiday season and the huage rate of decrease due to snow in the northern hemisphere. Since the acutal 1M geocache date will fall after Feb 3, I have exercised my right to re-schedule another award party for a Wed after the actual date.
This event is being hosted by Southwest Arlington Geocachers (S.W.A.G.), a group of cachers that meet informally every Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the No Frills Grill , so even if there's not an event, we are probably there. It is also sponsored by ChickNStu who is a member of SWAG since I have attended at least one SWAG event which confers immediate membership. Come visit!
