This is the first in a series of caches in a tribute to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This cache is a micro and hidden at the entrance to this reservation. Container is just big enough for log only, so BYOP! Please place back exactly where you found it.
ACUSHNET CEDAR SWAMP STATE RESERVATION (NORTH)

The Acushnet Cedar Swamp Reservation covers more than 2,000 acres in Dartmouth and New Bedford. The trailhead into the Reservation is marked by a brown metal gate. Limited parking is next to the trailhead; please do not block this emergency access gate or cross private property.
Enter at this trailhead around the brown metal gate. Within 100 meters or so, the well maintained trail forks. The right branch leads onto private property, so cachers should take the left branch. Following the trail northeast, you will arrive at another fork in about one mile. Continue here to the northeast, as the westerly trail crosses private property. The main trail leads you north along the border between Dartmouth and New Bedford for about another mile and ends abruptly near the utility easement. There is also a small branch to the right that leads through a beech woodland, the prettiest part of the hike. This is a relatively difficult walk and can be quite wet after rain and in the spring.
It is owned by the Mass Dept of Environmental Management, so being State owned land there IS HUNTING during hunting season. Please remember to wear blaze orange!
