Derrell's Stump-er Traditional Cache

chartmaker: I hate to do this folks but this geocache is being put to bed. Its time to leave our game has finally arrived. I stopped by today and it is my belief that this hide no longer exists at its proper location. While the hide area remains untouched by the ownerof the property, just on the other side of the fence at the rear of the property the material itself has deteriorated to such an extent that it no longer holds the hide in place. I also looked for the hide and failed to spot it during my visit today. Many thanks to Derrell, with a big 'D' and two 'R's and two 'L' s for allowing me the honour to have been the adoptive owner of this hide. I am not certain I would have found this hide on my own had he not allowed me to 'test' the hide when it was originally placed. It has been with pride that I became and maintained this 'special' hide as I have yet to see another hide similar to this hide. Thank you Derrell. It has been fun.

Geocache Description:

This "Day Time Cache"cache is located in the Fifth Concession Cemetery, South of the Mustang Drive-In. Most people don't even know that this is cemetery is here. I have acquired permission to hide this cache. This is not a winter friendly cache.

This cemetery is located here as at one time a community known as Plymouth existed at the nearby intersection. In fact, at one time it was also known as Belmont but later the name was changed to Plymouth and the current day Belmont received the name Belmont via renaming the post office at the current day Belmont to Belmont. In 1966 the Women's Institute's of Belmont and Wilton Grove undertook to refurbish the cemetery as a Centennial project which likely explains why the tombstones are positioned as at present. The last burial here occured in 1950 with the first taking place in 1840.

This cache is dedicated to all my Geo-Buddies that I got to know while I lived in Canada for Six Years. I wanted to make just one more hide before I left. I can't wait to see who will be the FTF. I would include a list of all my friends, but the list would be too long for sure. I consider this hobby of Geocaching a wonderful way to meet great people like yourselves.
A few of you showed me that geocaching is more than a Tupperware container in the woods. I hope that you continue to be creative with the hides and it's NOT always about the numbers. You taught me that quality is better than quantity and imagination and fun is very important in caches.It is with great sadness that I have had to move because of these economic times. (Ironically this is in a cemetery and cemeteries are usually a symbolism for the end ) I have really loved all the events, geocaching days and night caches. (You will all be missed !) Hope to visit all of you very soon.
This cache is pretty typical for my caches. You never know what to expect or what you are looking for. It is not too hard, but hopefully will require a bit of looking and thinking inside the box. D
