What is a Wherigo Geocache?
Wherigo is a new way of utilizing GPS technology to play games, take tours, and yes geocache. Visit Wherigo.com to learn more about this new software.

Do I need special equipment? (I'm willing to help. See below)
Yes! To find this cache the proper way and to truly experience the hunt the way it was meant to be experienced, you will need two things:

  1. The Wherigo Player on Wherigo compatible Hardware or a Smartphone App for Wherigo. (ie: Where You Go)
  2. The "Bedford Cemetery" Wherigo Cartridge
Garmin Colorado

The Wherigo Player comes pre installed on theGarmin Colorado and Oregon series GPSr. A version of the player is availablefor download for use by GPS enabled Pocket PC devices. Click"Download Player" to get the PPC version.

The Setting:
This Wherigo Geocache takes place in the Bedford Cemetery in Historic Bedford, Ohio.

The posted coordinates get you to the starting location of the cache.

The Experience:
This Wherigo experience is pretty straight forward and should be completed with relative ease. It was designed to demonstrate some of the basic functionality of Wherigo and how it can be used for geocaching.

This is my second Wherigo cache and the cartridge is pretty simple. All one has to do to complete this is do some walking. Your task is to visit 3 areas ("zones" in the Wherigo lingo). When you visit each zone - the Wherigo software recognizes you are there and marks that task as being complete. After you have completed each zone one more zone for the final cache will be presented. Simply walk to that zone where you will hopefully find the cache and sign the logbook. The experience is on a paved cemetery roadways.

Is logging my result any different for this cache?
Logging your results here on geocaching.com is no different than any other cache; so no changes there.

Unlocking the cartridge on Whereigo.com is not required, but it would be greatly appreciated. After you've completed the cartridge you should see a "Bedford Cemetery.gws" file on your device. You can upload this file to Wherigo.com and it will "Unlock" it, giving you full credit for completing the cartridge. It will also helptrack the number of completions for this cartridge. Again not required, but I would really appreciate it if you did.
