Madison Avenue (in New York City, of course) has long been thought
of as the capital of advertising. Perhaps it is less so now, but
there are still plenty of admen (and women) running the show from
there. The advertiser's job is to sell stuff and what better way to
sell stuff than to use the image of a woman.
There are a number of well-known (and not so well-known)
advertising logos that are used to sell food products.
Step 1, identify the manufacturer by the logos shown
below.
Step 2, find the specific product made by that manufacturer,
using the UPC codes below [note I have removed the first (product
type) and last (checksum) digits of the UPC codes, but you can
easily find the product with the remaining 10 digits].
Step 3, use information from the label of each product to collect
the necessary digits for the coordinates (note that x represents an
unimportant number for the purposes of this puzzle).
- For product 1, package size = xA ounces
- For product 2, there are Bx g of sugar per serving
- For product 3, each serving contains C% of the RDA for
sodium
- For product 4, there are xD mg of cholesterol per serving
- For product 5, each serving has E g of protein
- For product 6, there are xF servings per package
- For product 7, there are xGx servings per package
- For product 8, there are H servings per package
- For product 9, each serving contains J g of total
carbohydrates
The final coordinates are at N 47 AB.ACD W 122 EF.GHJ.
