Geocache Description:

The coordinates lead to the actual school house on the Little Red School House Nature Center grounds.
More information about the nature center is available via the "Related Web Page" link above.

Access to Nature Center buildings & grounds:
The display used for this puzzle is only accessible during Nature Center hours:
March – October: 9am - 5pm
November – February: 9am - 4pm
Closed: Every Friday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day & New Years Day

Access to the final cache:
The geocache is not located within the Nature Center's boundaries. It IS on Cook County Forest Preserve land, and is available on a daily basis during designated hours ( generally sunrise to sunset). The Nature Center’s grounds close at the same time as the buildings – so don’t get locked out of the grounds, being unable to return to your vehicle, when seeking the final cache!

Here is the display used for this puzzle. Enter the school house from the north (the lake side) and walk through to the southwest corner of the building. Aside from the puzzle, feel free to browse the other informational displays, too.

PUZZLE INSTRUCTIONS:
To solve the puzzle, determine which number on the display conceals the critter's identity in each equation. Complete the math for each equation and write down the answer.

EXAMPLE:
The equation: Skunk - Tadpole.
The display: “Skunk” is covered by #5 and “Tadpole” is covered by #2
The answer: 5 - 2 = 3

The final cache is at N 41°xx.xxx, W087° xx.xxx.
Even though there are only 4 equations listed in the puzzle, your answers will reveal a 5-digit, in-sequence number string to complete the remainder of the north & west coordinate.
Just drop a decimal appropriately in each 5-digit sequence.

Solved it? Now it's time for a nice walk to the final cache (Lock-n-Lock container). A helpful hint: Use the main Yellow trail for the majority of your trek to the final. No need to bushwhack until you're closer to GZ. Your use of expert camouflage skills when re-hiding the cache is ALWAYS appreciated. Thanks for visiting.
