Geocache Description:

The container at this location is a Bison Tube. After signing the log sheet please roll it up and place it in the cap. Then screw on the bottom piece. This prevents the log sheet from being crushed and difficult to sign. Thank You!

This cache has been placed at Teal Pond

Teal Pond exists within The Riverlands Environmental Demonstration Area (EDA), a 1,200-acre complex operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, adjacent to the Melvin Price Lock & Dam. The site was converted from agricultural fields in 1990 during construction of the Lock and Dam 26 Replacement.

Teal Pond is a 67 acre lake that was created by seepage of ground water from the Melvin Price Pool. The process of seepage lasted approximately 10 months. The pond was initially stocked with 50,000 fish of varying species in the spring of 1991. It is managed for recreational fishing in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation who oversees enforcement of fishing seasons and other regulations.

The container is a Magnetic Bison Tube that holds only a log sheet.
