Please note that the physical cache is not available when there is snow or ice on the ground. Ok, it's there, but good luck finding what you cannot see! Best to wait for it to melt.

A tribute to one of my favorite detectives! You will need to do some detective work to find and solve this puzzle.

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character who lived in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a creation of physician and author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

His close friend and confidant, Dr. John H. Watson, narrated all but four of the stories written by Doyle. Holmes shares the majority of his professional years with Dr. Watson. He gives Holmes practical assistance in the conduct of his cases; he also acts as Holmes' look-out, decoy, accomplice and messenger. Most of the Holmes stories are narratives, written from Watson's point of view as summaries of the detective's most interesting cases.

The quote, "Elementary, my dear Watson", however, was never uttered by Sherlock Holmes in any of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's written works. Though "Elementary" and "...my dear Watson," do appear near the beginning of The Crooked Man (1893), it is "...my dear Watson" that appears first, and "Elementary" is the succinct reply to Watson's exclamation a few lines of dialogue later. This is the closest these four immortal words ever appear together in the book. The association of this quote with Sherlock Holmes likely comes from the closing lines of the 1929 film "The Return of Sherlock Holmes".
