This cache container is a camo’d 1 Kg peanut butter jar, which you might have to do a little bushwhacking to get to it.
This used to be the old section of York rd. before the road re-alignment took place to accommodate the service center and make the on/off ramps more efficient.
If you like bird watching this area might interest you. Sometimes I stop by out here to watch the hawks that nest nearby and in the mornings there are sometimes wild turkey that mill about here in the clearing. Many times when I have been here I have spotted deer and the odd coyote.
This once was a proposed site for the Niagara region ambulance dispatch center, but it got rejected, as it would have cost the city way to much money to bring in the services needed to accommodate the dispatch center. The city went ahead with looking into the site across the road from auto parts dealer as the home for the dispatch center and that too was squashed. In the end a nice new facility was built on Townline Rd. which is a shared crew quarters for the EMS and the Volunteer Fire Hall, located behind the a parcel delivery service building.
The Dispatch cente is placed in the "Niagara Corporate Business Centre" also formerly ( Foster Wheeler ) building, which is located across the highway from this cache.
Now this dead end road which once was the new #8 Hwy at one time; is now just a quiet hang out for our city’s finest to do paperwork and enjoy some coffee and quiet time.
Hope you enjoy this little quiet hang out spot, I really like the area where the cache is hidden, it really cool after an ice storm in the winter.
