Be sure to watch this page for any
updates!
Seven years ago, at this same shelter the Middle Tennessee
Geocachers Club was formed and the founding meeting held. We would
love for as many of the original charter members to be here as
possible.
We would now like for you to join us, come rain, come shine or
come bone-chilling COLD (the original was in about 35 degree
freezing rain) for this important event. There is no need to be a
member of the MTGC to attend one of our events, so whether you have
found thousands of caches or you just got a GPSr for Christmas and
want to check out the sport, come on out and join us. Our Treasurer
will have the treasury sock and will be glad to place your $5
membership fee for the year in it.
Also, as important as it is for us to mark the 8th Anniversary
of the founding of the club, we also have a very important duty to
perform.
It is time to nominate and elect our officers for 2010 and this
cannot be taken lightly. The officers of the club work with the
authorities to promote and extend Geocaching in Tennessee, in
addition to organizing club events, CITO opportunities and other
club activities. Please come and show your support for those
working the hardest to help this game we all love move forward in
Tennessee. We will present a slate of candidates at the meeting and
will also take nominations from the floor. We will be voting for
President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
There is a fireplace in the shelter, so we can build a fire if
it gets a little chilly, and the great companionship and fellowship
with other cachers should keep us warm and fuzzy, as long as it
doesn't get too cold. So come on out and show your support for
Geocaching in Middle Tennessee.
We look forward to seeing you there! Bring any new cachers
you know! Logs for the fire will be appreciated!
