Geocache Description:

Mini lock and lock with room for very small trade items and trackables

Rock walls have been used for thousands of years to delineate property lines. As modern building techniques evolved or property is consolidated throughout the years, their importance decreases and they are abandoned. I always found it interesting when I come across a rock wall where I least expect it: What did the original property look like? Why a boundary here?

This is the fourth in a series highlighting forgotten rock walls that I have come across, usually while geocaching. The others are available at the following link:

Listing of Forgotten Rock Wall caches

This wall still seems to serve a useful purpose, to delineate the boundary between Wilcox Park and The Tourne. You can take the white trail from Birchwood Lake parking to get very near to the cache location.

If you choose your path carefully, you should be able to get right to the cache with a minimum of bushwhacking and thorns!!! Do not walk up the wall directly, you will regret it!!!

Easy Path to the Cache:
- From the white trail, look up the wall and locate the large boulder to the right (about 2:00)
- Take about 15 paces north until even with the boulder (user Leave Path Here waypoint)
- Navigate through the small trees to the boulder, a clear path to the wall and GZ should be evident from here.

NOTE: When placing this cache, I did see something I did not expect, a black bear! Be careful of your surroundings!

Congrats to IMSpider for the FTF!
