Geocache Description:

The cemetery is located a short distance from the road. The road is usually passable in cars with some care. The road is not maintained in the winter.

The container is small and very well camouflaged.

The cache is located outside the United Church cemetery for the now abandoned community of Biscayne Cove, Newfoundland. Located near the tip of Cape St. Francis. The local terrain is quite rugged. Remnants of the community of Biscayne Cove still exist and a few cabins are still in use in the area. There is also a fishing wharf in the cove.

The cemetery itself is located about 1.3 km from the location of the former community. While the graves are maintained the cemetery itself is no longer used. Headstones in the cemetery mostly date to the early 20th century.

Over the years some of the headstones have been destroyed by time. These have recently been replaced by a monument listing the names of those buried in the cemetery but no longer have their original head stone.

The information listed on the headstones are a testament to how difficult life could be in the past. It is a humbling read.

The cache is a small, well camouflaged container. It has enough room for a log book, and that's about it. When I hid it I placed a Canadian GeoCoin in it. The coin is from 2006 and I have been carrying it around with me for the past few years. It was time to turn it loose and see where it ends up without me.
