Geocache Description:

Moderate walk with a bit of a climb.

Park in a layby at Borrowdale Gates Hotel, cross the road and go through the gate. Climb the small hillock ahead where a stone seat at the top commemorates the gift of the surrounding land to the National Trust in 1917 by Canon Rawnsley. The views from here over Derwent Water are wonderful linger awhile and enjoy. Continue along the path, through a gate and take the path to the left – now you are on your own – the Waterfall is well worth a visit and you can reach the top with very little effort indeed (but we couldn’t find a place to hide the cache ). From the actual cache site you can see the memorial seat along with 360 degree views of Borrowdale and Derwent Water.
