You can enjoy these caches simply as an excuse for a pleasant
hike along well-kept trails through the forest, or you can choose
to also play the poker game that is spread across the seven caches
in the series. The rules are simple.
At this cache -- the Deck Selection cache -- you will choose
whether to play the poker game or not. (Of course, if all the cards
have run out, the decision will have been made for you.) There are
eight decks of cards spread across the caches in the series. If you
choose to play the poker game, you will now choose which of the
eight decks you will draw from. The decks are labeled in sequence
from A to H. Choose one of the decks and sign the
logbook on the appropriate page. Once seven people have selected a
given deck, its cards will be exhausted and the deck will be
retired.
If you have multiple people in your group, you should probably
each select a different deck, but the choice is yours. (There is no
strategic advantage from choosing one deck over another.)
If you are not playing the poker game, you should sign the
logbook on one of the pages labeled "No deck".
Take note of the coordinates for the Card Selection caches. Take
a slip of paper with the coordinates if there are any available. If
the slips have run out, the coords are also written in the front of
the logbook.
At the Card Selection caches, you will collect the cards that
comprise your hand and collect the coordinates for the final cache
in the series.
At the Final cache you can discard up to two cards from your
hand and replace them with new cards. The five cards you have left
after this will be your final hand.
When you log this cache, please indicate which deck you are
playing, and at the final cache please indicate which cards you
have picked up.
If you have any questions about these caches, you can write a
