An enjoyable hike along a gravel jeep track and well marked paths. The cache is located about half way along the scenic Skyline Path. It is not recommended for younger children, but older children should be fine.
Park at the Silvermine Reservoir, S34° 04.515 E018° 24.035.
As the route from here is almost the same distance in either direction, you can choose to follow the gravel jeep track South and then up to Noordhoek Peak, the South end of the Skyline Path, or the slightly shorter route up the Northerly side of the circular route to the top of Blackburn Ravine, the North end of the Skyline Path.
From either end of the Skyline Path, find your way to S34° 03.984 E018° 22.843, marked by four small rocks in the path and a small cairn.
From this point, head off the path a short distance to the rocks at S34° 03.980 E018° 22.834 where you will find a convenient place to scramble down a short distance to the large flat rock below you. In doing so you will most likely pass over, or very near, the cache location.
This large flat rock is a great view point and will offer shelter from the prevailing South Easter while you stop for a snack, log the cache and enjoy the view.
