Geocache Description:

A multi- cache with choices.

This is a multi cache that is somewhat based upon one of the challenges on Survivor. It consists of reading a story at the coordinates above and then answering a series of questions at other caches. If you get the answer right you get the next question, if you get it wrong you then get the coordinates to the next question. At the end is a final cache with the log book and items to trade. We tried to make up a good short story but came up short creatively, so the story is about Ambrose and Angus. Further instructions for the cache hunt are in the first cache with the story.

The cache is in the Wheaton Regional Park—an area getting pretty heavy with caches (see CrissCross, All’s Well That Ends Well, and Wheaton Regional Park #1). Best parking is in the Brookside Nature Center Parking Lot (see picture below). You can get there by taking Georgia Ave North from the Beltway, take a right (East) on Randolph Road, and then a right (South) on Glenallen Road and look for the signs for the nature center (not the Brookside Gardens, that’s a separate fenced in area).

Pictures below include one of the trailhead to take and what the first story cache hiding place looks like. Although this will take between 7 and 12 individual finds none of the decon boxes (thanks Tedoca for the idea) are very well hidden and all are no more than 200 feet from the closest trail and most are closer. We expect this will take between 2 ½ to 4 hours depending on whether or not you answer the questions correctly. The total hike is not more than 2.5 miles all on flat terrain, the difficulty rating is high since there are so many caches to find.

We hope you enjoy this, it’s not easy but we expect it to be fun. We look forward to feedback on this concept. Enjoy.

Ambrose and Angus
