Geocache Description:

This cache is located at a place that would hold special significance for all Australians. The terrain is pretty easy unlike the terrain endured by those Australians of whom we are remembering here. The cache holds only a log so please bring your own writing implement.

When you exit your vehicle look west and you will see a large plaque headed KOKODA TRACK with a relief map of Papua New Guinea. There is much information here that will teach you things you didn't know and help you to appreciate our servicemen. When you have read as much as you like take a southerly route to the beginning of the KOKODA TRACK MEMORIAL WALK, with another plaque there with that name. This also holds a lot of interesting information. After you have read this plaque, again take the southerly route along the track. This will lead you to another plaque. This one is headed OWERS CORNER. More information greets you there. Keep heading south on the pathway and you will come to a plaque on the right hand side of the path named IMITA RIDGE. Read this before turning around and you will see a large curved wall. Upon this wall you will see engraved two lines of text. One of them reminds us: LEST WE FORGET To find the location of the cache you will need to add together the number of each of these letters in both lines of text: The number of the letter C The number of the letter (R+U) The number of the letter (H+F) The number of the letter (N+L) The number of the letter E This will give you the South co-ordinates for the cache - S 28d 01.C (R+U) (H+F) And similarly for East co-ordinates for the cache: E153d 25.(N+L) E Now - head off and find the cache. Don't forget to sign the log. And watch out for muggles please. When you have signed the log and replaced the cache, please take a moment to ponder on the beautiful mural that is presented before you. Read the four words that have been placed around the semi circle in front of the mural. They are all words for which these men are well known and with which we esteem these men who have served us well and who sacrificed so much to protect our freedom in this great country - AUSTRALIA. KIPOC took FTF honours for this cache! Congratulations!
