This cache is set in one of the caching gaps on the Thames Path. At this point the Thames Path runs along the busy A361, there is parking adjacent to the cache and therefore this is a simple drive-by cache. Wheelchair users will need assistance retrieving the cache.

The Thames Path follows England's best known river for 184 miles (294km) as it meanders from its source in the Cotswolds through several rural counties and on to the City of London. On its way the Trail passes peaceful water meadows rich in wildlife, historic towns and many lovely villages, finishing at the Thames Barrier near Greenwich.

The A361 follows the line of the former Swindon to Burford Turnpike. A turnpike was a road paid for partly or wholly by fees collected from travelers at tollgates. It derived its name from the hinged bar that prevented passage through such a gate until the toll was paid.
