Old Stomping Grounds Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

marcupio: Due to over muggle activity due to nearby neighborhood, this cache has been archived. It was fun while it lasted. I'm a little disappointed by the lack of respect for other people's property. Thanks for playing, guys.

Geocache Description:

This is a little rocky but pretty easy. Wheelchairs and strollers probably will not be able to make it. Please be respectful of the property. You do not need to drive off the road.

I grew up here. We moved into the house to the east 36 years ago. I have since moved on, but my sister still lives here.

Back in the day, the subdivision to the west didn't exist. There used to be a old dead tree that we would call the haunted tree and at night we could hear the owl that lived there. If you look around, you will see a haystack. Right where the haystack is now, used to be an old house. All the windows were busted out and the walls were torn down. We always called i the haunted house and wouldn't dare go in it at night.

As a kid, we would come here and play hide and seek with the neighbors and their dogs. We would plug the ditch as it went under the road so that it would become deeper. We would then build a ramp and jump our bikes into the ditch. Those were the days.

I remember playing in the sagebrush with the dogs and happened to look towards the haunted house. The sun was setting in the background and you could see what was like a bear inside the house with it's arms outstretched. After closer examination, we found that it was a dog that was hung up with it's guts spilled out on the ground. Hmmmm.....things your remember.
