Where Texas Comes Together: Lost Pines
If you’ve been pining for a walk in the woods, here is the cache for you! This is one of four caches hidden at McKinney Roughs Nature Park (with the park’s permission). Each is along a different trail, representing one of each of the four ecosystems located within the park. You must check in at the park headquarters and pay the fee to hike the trails ($5 per person, 12 and under are free). You will be given a trail map.
The Lost Pines cache is most easily accessed from the Highway 71 Trailhead. The cache is an ammo box, and contains items to trade, as well as a logbook, pencil, and description of the area. Take time to enjoy the beautiful scents and scenery, and check out the other trails and caches while you’re here!
Park hours are 8AM - 5 PM Monday through Sunday.
