Located in the Raccoon River Greenbelt area, on Panther Creek Road
in Adel, there are 52.1 acres consisting of mid-age oaks and
hickory woodlands. Approximately 2.5 acres are in grasslands and
woodland areas. There is a 7.5 acre pond with lots of
good-eating-sized pan fish. You will find good populations of
wildlife and a wide diversity of plant species. Significant
geological sites are also present. Recreational opportunities might
include bird watching, hiking, fishing, picnicking and mushroom
hunting.

The gate remains locked unless there is a interpretive program
in session; to access the natural resources available, you must
park outside the gate and walk in. Glissman is open ½ hour before
sunrise and closed at 10:00 p.m. each day.
