Park at S28d 07.699 and E153d 28.656. From this parking area you will see why this cache is called Pirate Treasure. This cache is in an area being newly developed with funds from the Federal Government. Wow! The cache is a silver magnetic container. Please rehide while applying stealth. This can be a busy area. This will be an amazing place to bring the geokids. What a fun playground. And, not only that, a lovely beach and swimming area, plus nice areas for picnicking as well as amenities. What more can you want? A cache, you say? Well, that's here too. So come for a fun day out with the geofamily. The spiel on the signboard goes: Treasure Island Playground at Palm Beach Parklands. The pirate ship theme of Treasure Island Playground has been especially designed to stimulate young minds, encourage imaginative play and provide fun for children of all ages. A large pirate ship, wrecked against a rocky outcrop, will incorporate themed slides, spinners and rockers, activities such as 'walking the plank', exploring for hidden treasure and musical play, all under the shade of a pirate ship's sail. This project is supported by funding from the Federal Government. Construction commenced August, 2009. Completion Scheduled for November, 2009. The cache is located off the path that heads south from the pirate ship. Further improvements were made to the park in 2022/2023.
