Sycamore Grove/ East Series (SG/ES) Sycamore Grove Park is my favorite local park. Even though I live in Dublin, I like to come out here and hike. It is a Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) run park. You can park at either end. (Technically, it is two parks- Sycamore Grove/Veterans Park.)
The parking fee is $5.00 currently and they enforce it. On the west end, you can park in Independence Park for free and walk about ¼ mile. The cache is at the other end though.
The park is officially open from 7am to Sunset except for fall and winter (when it closes at 5:30 PM).
In the spring, there is an abundance of wildflowers here, including lush displays of California Golden Poppys. In the fall, the Sycamores put on a gorgeous display of fall colors. So, having found all of the current caches in the more accessible areas,
I noticed recently that there is a large area in the east end that could use some newer caches. The closest parking is the east end parking lot near the entrance to Wente winery. There is a no bicycling area on the trails that some of my caches are on (just so you will know).
