Geocache Description:

Log-only cache near hot springs - BYOP

One of the things we enjoy about the part of the southwest are the pools of hot springs that exist in various places. We had visited Pagosa Springs up in Colorado, but then I ran across a New Mexico travel magazine that listed all the hot springs in various parts of the state. One that caught my eye were the ones a stone's throw away from this cache. We visited this small town (and its springs) for my birthday last year, and really enjoyed it.

The cache itself was placed after a recent soak in the springs. You can park a few hundred feet before you get to the cache on some gravel pull-outs from the main road - once you cross the cattle guard, be looking for them on either side of the road. (The cache is on the right-hand side if you're coming from US 285.)

Once you pick up this cache, if you're looking for an amazingly scenic drive, take US 285 north toward Taos, and take a right on NM 567 for a breathtaking view of the Rio Grande Gorge.

— Congratulations to Box 1 & 2 for the FTF! —
