The Simonside Hills are a hill range in Northumberland, England near the town of Rothbury. Most of the hills are around 300–400 m high and are popular spots for hikers in the area. The highest point is Tosson Hill at 440 m.
There are several single pitch rock climbing crags dotted along the hillside, notably Simonside North Face and Ravensheugh.
Final location is a fantastic spot to stop and have a bite to eat, and if timed right watch a spectacular sunset!
This is a two stage cache, as the main path can get crowded at peak times. Park at N55 17.472 W1 56.582 (Simonside Car Park) or N55 16.997 W1 55.110 (Lordenshaw Car Park)
Stage 1: Coordinates to main cache are hidden within a fake stone, it is difficult to spot, but has to be, as it is hidden close to footpath.
Stage 2: Make your way to these new coordinates, the main cache is here. A large Ammo Box full of goodies. Approach from the south ONLY, as the cache is at the base of a small crag.
FTF prize of a lump of 'Fools Gold' in a pink & white paper bag.
